Meet Dr Debby Hwang
Dr. Debby Hwang practices as a full-time periodontist and implant surgeon. An experienced lecturer and published author, Dr. Hwang has presented on several scientific and clinical issues nationally and internationally. She, along with Dr. Michael Sonick, serves as the chief editor of Implant Site Development, an upcoming book on dental implants published by Wiley, and continues to write a number of research and review papers for prominent journals.
After earning her doctorate cum laude from the Harvard University School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Hwang completed her periodontal residency at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, which honored her with the Sigurd P. Ramfjord Award for Excellence. The American Academy of Periodontology privileged her with a scholarship as well as a nomination for the Dr. and Mrs. Gerald M. Kramer Scholar Award for Excellence.
Dr. Hwang is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology and American Dental Association. With respect to practice, she has a particular interest in periodontal plastic surgery as well as implantology.
Aside from private practice, Dr. Hwang spends time traveling across the U.S., visiting family and friends, hiking, rescuing animals, brushing up on Mandarin Chinese and dissecting pop culture. She lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
